Nebraska football needed to create some momentum on the recruiting trail, and over the past few days, the Huskers have certainly done that.
Trae Taylor helped create a ton of positive buzz for the Huskers with the 2027 class, but on the first big official visit weekend of June for the Huskers, Nebraska football knocked it out of the park.
The weekend is freshly over, so more intel will come. However, the Huskers are already trending for a couple of 2026 commitments, including a flip of Kamron Wilson, a three-star EDGE who has been committed to Syracuse.
Wilson is 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, and ranked No. 423 overall in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry rankings. The Miami, Florida, prospect had 17 sacks last season and has been projected to flip after his official visit, which was his second trip to Lincoln in 2025.
Florida State and North Carolina State are also supposed to get official visits. Yet, after a projection to Nebraska from Bryan Munson of Husker Online, the Huskers have a 94.8 percent chance to flip his commitment.
More good news for Nebraska football
The Huskers are also trending with expert projections, including from lead national expert Steve Wilfong, for the commitment of Hayden Ainsworth, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman out of Biloxi, Mississippi.
Ainsworth is ranked No. 714 overall in the 2026 class via the On3 Industry rankings. North Carolina, Liberty, and Florida State are also expected to get a visit, but Nebraska football has an 89 percent chance to land his commitment.
Three-star tight end Luke Sorensen, who will announce a commitment on June 20th, between Nebraska, Penn State, and Ole Miss, said his visit to Nebraska (On3), “Will be hard to top.”
Four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh, the top-ranked commitment for Nebraska (No. 101 overall), told Bryan Munson of Husker Online he was “firmly committed” after flirting with Florida, Florida State, Miami, and other schools.
That’s the best news of the weekend. There is sure to be more fallout, but based on the early returns, it’s safe to say this weekend was a success.
