Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule isn’t messing around this offseason.

After hiring two new assistant coaches over the weekend and firing offensive line coach Donovan Raiola, Rhule is working to add a third new coach to the Nebraska football staff: Elijah Robinson.

Robinson has been mentioned with Nebraska before. He was formerly at Texas A&M and is currently the defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator at Syracuse.

Lane Kiffin was poised to steal Robinson away. However, according to a report from Football Scoop, Nebraska football is making a strong push to land Robinson, and there are rumors of a major offer by Rhule to make it happen.

Rob Aurich was just hired as the Nebraska football DC. Robinson, therefore, would be a tremendous get as the co-defensive coordinator and D-line coach. It’s hard to say what this means for Terry Bradden. But if you have the chance to add a coach like Robinson, who is one of the top recruiters in the country, you do it. No questions asked.

Nebraska needed to address the offensive and defensive lines. Some talent will need to be added via the portal, but adding Geep Wade as the O-line coach and Robinson, as the D-line coach would be a grand slam.

Former 4-star enters the transfer portal

The Huskers have lost former four-star running back Jamarion Parker to the transfer portal. Parker is out of St. Louis, Missouri, and landing his commitment felt like a huge win for Nebraska in the 2025 class.

It felt like Parker had a bright future. He battled some injuries this season, yet was never really able to see the field. With Emmett Johnson leaving for the NFL draft there is a massive opportunity to running backs at Nebraska. That makes this move curious but good luck to the kid moving forward.

Running back remains a top need in the portal along with offensive and defensive lines.
