Nebraska Football poised for more 2023 commitments, plus Dayton Raiola re-offered

Nebraska football is expected to land a pair of 2023 commitments on Wednesday, plus an important re-offer to Dayton Raiola.

The Nebraska football program has been on a roll in terms of recruiting since the hire of new head coach Matt Rhule and that should continue this week.

Nebraska football is currently ranked 28th in the 2023 team recruiting rankings via 247 sports after signing 21 recruits on Early National Signing Day. However, two more names should be added to the 2023 class at the Under Armour All-American Game this week.

Cameron Lenhardt, a long-time target of Nebraska football under Scott Frost, Mickey Joseph, and Matt Rhule, is going to finally announce his decision. All signs are pointing toward Nebraska. The On3 prediction machine gives the Huskers an 85-percent chance to win his commitment.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder is ranked 308th overall via the 247 sports composite rankings and is the 37th-ranked EDGE in the 2023 class. In short, it would be a huge addition, especially with Garrett Nelson leaving for the NFL draft.

Nebraska football needs pass rushers and while it’s hard to rely on a freshman, Lenhardt at least has the type of talent needed to make an early impact. Coming from the IMG Academy certainly helps too.

Nation also received two crystal ball projections recently for Nebraska. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder is ranked 463rd overall in the 247 sports composite rankings and had over 50 scholarship offers. He finished with 11 pass breakups and three interceptions in 2022 but has 12 career interceptions in high school.

Auburn and Houston both appear to be in the mix too, but as with Lenhardt, it seems like Nation has probably signed already and is just waiting on the announcement. Maybe it’s not set in stone, but I’m 99.9 percent sure both will be added to Nebraska’s 2023 class on Tuesday.

An important re-offer by Rhule and staff

Everyone is talking about Dylan Raiola right now as a Nebraska football fan. Will Compton added to that discussion when he predicted the five-star QB in 2024 will wind up committing to the Huskers.

Raiola recently decommitted from Ohio State and his uncle is the Nebraska offensive line coach. His father, Dominic Raiola, is a Nebraska football hall-of-Famer.

Now, there could be even more family ties. Raiola last visited Nebraska with his younger brother Dayton Raiola, a 2026 QB who was offered by Mickey Joseph. On Sunday, he posted on Twitter that he’s been re-offered by Nebraska and I won’t lie, I’m dreaming of a QB pipeline filled with Raiola’s.
