Nebraska football isn’t finished with 2026 recruiting class just yet

Nebraska football is hoping to add some defensive lineman to the 2026 class as the Huskers aim to close strong.

The 2026 recruiting class for Nebraska football has been a little underwhelming. It’s a solid class. But it has some holes, especially on the defensive line.

There is a valid reason for that. Terry Bradden is in his first season as the defensive line coach. As far as on-field results, he’s been dynamic. Williams Nwaneri has 14 combined pressures in the past two games, including eight on Saturday against Maryland.

Bradden has the former five-star recruit playing like a five-star recruit. Some have criticized Bradden because of the lack of D-line commitments in this class, but he joined the staff in February.

Many commitments were made this spring or summer, so literally, he had a few months to recruit the 2026 class against coaches who have, in some cases, been recruiting these players for a year or two.

You can’t just coach, especially a first-time recruiter, without even giving him a full cycle to recruit. Even in the 2027 class, Nebraska football was behind the 8-ball.

The Huskers are starting to catch up, though, and there is still the possibility of adding an EDGE, as well as a defensive lineman, to the 2026 class.

Nebraska football recruiting buzz in 2026

Djidjou Bah, a three-star defensive line commitment of Wisconsin, has been offered by Nebraska and will take an official visit for the USC game on Nov. 1, according to Bryan Munson of Husker Online.

Bah is 6-foot-3, 276 pounds. He’s ranked No. 823 overall, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings out of Germantown, Tennessee. Georgia Tech is also expected to get a visit. Bah is still committed to the Badgers, but with Luke Fickell on the hot seat, that could change soon.

Three-star EDGE Damaad Lewis, a 6-foot-3, 235-pounder out of Charlotte, is ranked No. 1,159 overall in the 2026 class. He will be in Nebraska for an official visit for the USC game. He’s not committed, and it feels like a great time to add a pass rusher with some long-term upside.

Rivals and 247 Sports have him ranked among the top 42 EDGE prospects in the 2026 class. ESPN doesn’t have him ranked at all. Lewis also has offers from Texas, USC, Texas A&M, Florida State, Washington, Minnesota, and others.

Nebraska is the only team getting a visit this fall, though, so it seems safe to say the Huskers are currently the team to beat.

Lastly, three-star wideout Josiah Teasley will also visit for an official on Nov. 1. The 6-foot-4 pass catcher is committed to Virginia. He just visited Penn State, but the Nittany Lions just had a coaching change, so this is another where Nebraska is a good spot to flip the ACC commitment.
