Nebraska football is going to get a visit from 2025 five-start offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. this weekend. He will be on campus from Friday-Sunday.

Sanders is a highly-touted recruit. He is the second overall defensive tackle nationally, and the top player in the 2025 class per the 247Sports composite rankings.

As predicted, he has several offers on the table. Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia are all schools that have an advantage in recruiting him so far. Nebraska is also one of the top schools trending for him, which is undoubtedly a positive.

Sanders is an absolute mauler of a lineman. He measures in at six-foot-six, 270 pounds and plays like it. As soon as the ball snapped, he extends his hands and is able to create lanes for the running backs. In addition to creating lanes, he also has the ability to offer solid pass-protection.

Perhaps one of the strongest parts of his game is his leverage. As soon as the ball snapped, he does a good job of extending his hands and immediately takes advantage of the matchup with his man.

The name may sound familiar to some Nebraska for offense. Quarterback Dylan Raiola gave a shout out to Sanders on Instagram earlier this year. Now, a visit is coming to fruition and that is certainly a positive sign.

When you take a look at how Nebraska football is building this line, Sanders would be a massive get. He would automatically be one of the most talented linemen on the Nebraska football roster, and would be a cornerstone of the 2025 class. Sanders is the type of guy that you can build a line around, and the  Huskers could certainly do that here.

What does this mean  for the 2025 Nebraska Football class?

Currently, the 2025 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 37th overall nationally with five commitments. Tyson Terry is the top commitment in the class. Sanders would overtake Terry at the top spot.

When you think about how Nebraska football has built this line, the depth at the offensive line position is impressive. From Gibson Pyle, to Grant Brix, to Landon Davidson, Nebraska football has several players on the offensive line that can bring a lot to the table. There was a time when Nebraska did not have a ton of depth, or talent, on the line. That is no longer going to be the case.

Obviously, the Huskers are going to have their work cut out in Sanders’ recruitment. Nevertheless, the fact that he is coming for an official visit is definitely a good sign. This is going to be a recruitment Nebraska fans should watch closely over the next couple weeks. Matt Rhule and his coaching staff never seem to be fully out of a recruitment.
