It’s been a wild week for the Nebraska football program. For all of Nebraska really. Trev Alberts left his AD job last week on Wednesday morning, the Huskers hired his replacement.

That move should put the focus back on the programs, instead of on the administrators. That’s a good thing for the Nebraska basketball teams this week as they get set to take on Texas A&M in the NCAA tournament in the men’s and women’s tournaments.

Nebraska football is gearing up for the start of spring practice next week. However, the Huskers have been busy on the recruiting trail and are trending up with a 2025 cornerback, Bryson Webber.

Nebraska football gets a new crystal ball

Webber is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback out of Missouri City, Texas. He’s not ranked according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and was offered by Nebraska football back in January. The Huskers weren’t the first power-4 offer and aren’t the last as Baylor and Texas Tech have also offered scholarships. Arkansas State has too.

However, Nebraska is the only program that has an official visit scheduled. Webber will visit Lincoln on June 21st for his official visit. According to Mike Roach of 247 Sports, the Huskers are also the leader for the Texas cornerback. Roach was in Houston recently for a recruiting event and spoke to Webber.

The athletic defensive back didn’t work out because of a hamstring injury but Roach said that Webber “talked up Nebraska heavily” which led, among other things in the recruitment, to a crystal ball (five confidence) in the Huskers’ favor.

Webber finished last season with 22 tackles, two interceptions, three pass breakups, and two tackles for loss. He doesn’t have any other visits scheduled right now other than Nebraska.
