While things didn’t go well on the field for Nebraska football last week against Indiana, the Huskers were able to generate some positive recruiting news by flipping four-star offensive lineman Juju Marks from Kansas.

That’s the first of hopefully a few flips for Nebraska football in the 2025 class. I mentioned a few targets I think the Huskers might be able to flip, which includes in-state tight end Chase Loftin.

There hasn’t been any buzz on that front. However, there is plenty with the other flip candidates Nebraska football is pursuing in the 2025 class.

Nebraska football is still in the mix for Dawson Merritt

One of those is four-star linebacker/EDGE Dawson Merritt (No. 113 overall in 2025), an Alabama commitment. Merritt has a strong interest in Nebraska football. He’s visited three times since the spring game, which included a trip to Lincoln or the Colorado game.

Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule also visited Merritt for a game recently. That meant a lot to Merritt and it’s clear that the Huskers aren’t going anywhere.

For the record, Chad Simmons of On3.com wrote on Tuesday that Merritt was keeping Nebraska football “extremely warm.” Simmons also wrote that the Huskers would be in it “until the very end.”

That means Early Signing Day. It feels like if a flip does happen, it will be closer to signing day, so for now, Nebraska fans need to stay tuned and hope the team can win a few games down the stretch.

I’m also keeping an eye on three-star wideout Jordan Allen, who is committed to Louisville. Allen is a teammate of Dayton Raiola’s and is ranked No. 758 overall in the 2025 class. He’s 5-foot-8, 170 pounds, and is a dynamic athlete.

The Huskers offered recently. Getting him on campus for a visit will be the next step. There are games left against UCLA and Wisconsin. Those feel like the best chances and if Allen makes a trip to Lincoln, I will feel much better about the possibility of a flip there too.
