Nebraska football extended an offer to 2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. on Friday.  Huskers quarterback Dylan Raiola immediately stepped up his efforts in recruiting, directing Sanders to him.

Sanders is the top offensive tackle in the 2025 class, and the second overall player nationally and his class per the 247Sports composite rankings. He has a 99 overall numerical rating from 247Sports. Sanders has 36 offers in total, the most recent offer coming from the Huskers.

Sanders measures in at six-foot-six, 275 pounds. He is extremely dominant both in the pass and run protection.

Run protection is where his physicality is most noticed immediately as he is able to gain leverage on his man, and push him back with ease. Mobility is also not a problem with him either. He can get out and block on screen plays, and that allows him to assert his dominance in the passing game as well.

Taking stock of Nebraska football 2025 recruiting class

Currently, Nebraska football has zero offensive lineman committed in the 2025 class. Sanders would also be the highest-rated commitment in the class by far. Nevertheless, that certainly doesn’t take away from the rest of the class. The ’25 group is extremely strong, and Nebraska has a solid group of players in it. The future is definitely bright in that regard.

Sanders would undoubtedly be a difficult target to land, given the interest from some of the bigger schools. With that being said, the Huskers have been hot on the recruiting trail lately in terms of landing offensive lineman. It would be a disservice to count them out entirely from Sanders

At the very least, Raiola took his shot at recruiting Sanders, doing so on Instagram.

Having Raiola in the program certainly does make it more appealing for offensive lineman. Nebraska football has a real chance to get quality offensive talent and build around the star quarterback. The quarterback may be one of the program’s biggest recruiting weapons for the future, and it’s good to see him willingly trying to take on the role of recruiter.
