Nebraska football recently made the top three for 2026 tight end Luke Sorensen. The California prospect also included Penn State and Ole Miss in his top three.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end out of Anaheim visited Penn State last weekend. The Nittany Lions are the crystal ball leader. It’s also notable that he scheduled his commitment for June 20th, right after visiting Happy Valley.
There wasn’t an official visit on the schedule for Nebraska football. However, that’s changed now. Sorensen will take an official visit to Lincoln this weekend.
That doesn’t mean Nebraska will overtake Penn State for the No. 646 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry rankings, but it at least gives the Huskers a chance to land one of their top tight end targets in the 2026 class, along with Lincoln Watkins, who will also visit this month.
A new offer by Nebraska football could be meaningful in 2026
Three-star wide receiver Larry Miles, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound wide receiver from Orlando, Florida, took a mid-week visit to Nebraska this week.
Miles is familiar with Trae Taylor. That could play a factor in this recruitment, but he was extended an offer on Wednesday. Nebraska football assistant coach Phil Simpson, who has ties to Florida, posted “#Flobraska” on his social media with three corn emojis.Â
It feels like that is teasing some good news, maybe even a silent commitment from Miles, who is ranked No. 467 overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
4-star EDGE sets commitment date
Zavion Griffin-Haynes had an official visit scheduled to Nebraska football for later this month, but the four-star EDGE will announce his commitment on Thursday among North Carolina, Florida State, Nebraska, and Georgia.
The 6-foot-6 pass rusher is ranked No. 256 overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He visited North Carolina last weekend. The Tar Heels are the crystal ball leader now.
Never say never, but it seems like another target will come off the board for the Huskers.
