It’s an important weekend for Nebraska football recruiting. The Huskers are expected to land a commitment on Friday from three-star tight end Luke Sorensen.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end from Servite, California, will announce his college decision, and it’s expected to be Nebraska football.

That would put the Huskers back at six commitments for the 2026 class after CJ Bronaugh flipped his pledge to Florida earlier this week.

There’s no sugarcoating the loss of Bronaugh, an elite cornerback. But there are some other prospects at the position who will be visiting this weekend. It also makes landing Darion Jones, who will announce on July 4th, even more important.

Nebraska’s running back board is also getting thinner. Jamal Rule, out of Charlotte, has the Huskers in his final four along with Virginia Tech, Syracuse, and Michigan State. He posted on social media on Thursday that a decision is coming soon.

There’s reason to feel good about each of those recruitments, beyond Sorensen. Now, looking ahead to the final weekend of official visitors, and remember there won’t be any visits in July, so this will be it until September, here are the key recruits to watch this weekend for Nebraska football fans.

Final list of Nebraska football official visitors

There are eight official visitors total, according to On3.com. Two of them are Nebraska football commitments: Dayton Raiola and Jase Reynolds.

There is also one Syracuse commitment on campus in four-star offensive tackle Javeion Cooper. Things aren’t looking great for Kelvin Obot, so this might be a reflection of that.

Claude Mpouma, a 6-foot-8, 260-pound offensive tackle out of Chicago, is also visiting. If Trae Taylor was going to help Nebraska land any recruit in the 2026 class, this would be one to get.

Mpouma is an elite pass protector and would lock down that left tackle position for multiple seasons. He’s the kind of offensive tackle Nebraska needs, but hasn’t been able to land in high school recruiting, at least under Matt Rhule.

Four-star cornerback Danny Odem from Orlando, Florida, is now a must-land recruit for Nebraska. He’s ranked No. 198 overall. The 6-foot, 198-pounder has Penn State as the leader right now, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Four-star safety Devin Jackson (No. 217) is another key target in the secondary. Florida is the heavy favorite via the On3 prediction machine, but don’t count out Nebraska.

Finally, three-star wideout Larry Miles (No. 592) will visit. He visited earlier this month, so an official visit is a really good sign for the 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver from Winter Garden, Florida. Nebraska feels near the top with Miles.

The Huskers will also get three-star wideout Nalin Scott back on campus. The Arizona State commitment is ranked No. 404 overall. He visited during the spring before committing to the Sun Devils.
