We are less than a week away from National Signing Day, and the hope is that the Huskers will get some good news from four-star defensive tackle Dylan Berymon.
The 6-foot-2, 330-pounder ranked No. 199 overall in the 2026 recruiting class and visited Nebraska football recently. The Huskers also sent coaches to his school last week, which included head coach Matt Rhule and new D-line coach Corey Brown.
Soon after that trip, Berymon started trending with expert projections to commit to Nebraska. Then, it was reported that he was going to visit Florida instead of Nebraska this weekend. Now, according to Rivals, that visit has been cancelled.
Berymon said he made up his mind earlier this week. An announcement is expected on Wednesday, and after the latest developments, it feels like Nebraska is in a good spot.
The Huskers are also scheduled to host 12 recruits this weekend in the 2027 class. That won’t include five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. He was expected to visit but had to reschedule.
There will be seven four-stars on campus, including Nebraska football commits Trae Taylor, Tory Pittman, and Amir Brown. Four-star IOL Kyler Kuhn and four-star OT Timi Aliu are some of the top uncommitted prospects who will visit.
Huskers hosting big recruiting weekend in basketball, too
Fifth-ranked Nebraska basketball suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday, but the Huskers have captured the attention of some key 2026/2027 recruits, who will be on campus for the Illinois game on Sunday, which is another top-10 showdown (the third this month for the Huskers).
Mathias Alessanco, a talented 6-foot-8 forward in the 2026 class, who took visits to Michigan and Texas over the summer, will take an official visit to Nebraska this weekend. He’s a three-star recruit from Brazil, but has impressed with the Overtime Elite, averaging 8.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
Dawson Battie, a five-star big man from the 2027 class, will also be on campus this weekend. The 6-foot-8 forward is ranked seventh overall in the 2027 class, according to the Rivals Industry rankings. He will visit this weekend, along with London Dada, a 6-foot-7 four-star recruit ranked No. 1 in the state of Nebraska in 2027.
