Nebraska football is a finalist in the recruitment of four-star quarterback Trae Taylor, who is set to make a commitment on May 1st.

The Huskers have been viewed among the favorites throughout this recruitment. LSU and Texas A&M are also right there along with Michigan.

Taylor has visited Nebraska football three times. The most recent was March 27th. Soon after, Taylor announced his commitment date of May 1st. There haven’t been any crystal balls or other expert predictions yet.

Michigan leads according to the On3 prediction machine. The Wolverines have hosted Taylor for 14 visits. Yet, Taylor has been active with his visits and has been to every school on his list at least twice.

This weekend, he’ll be back in Lincoln for the fourth time. Taylor posted on X that he will visit for a scrimmage on Saturday ahead of his May 1st commitment date. Taylor has spoken glowingly about Matt Rhule and the Nebraska staff before. They have built a great rapport.

The 6-foot-3, 186-pound quarterback is ranked 35th overall in the 2027 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s a borderline five-star and ranked as the third-best QB. Taylor passed for over 3,000 yards last season and 20 touchdown passes.

Some have speculated that LSU and Nebraska are the top two teams for Taylor. If that’s true, this visit should be viewed in a favorable light, at least as far as the Huskers’ chances of landing the elite quarterack are concerned.
