A report from Chris Hummer of 247 Sports had Nebraska football fans slightly panicked on Monday as there was talk of star quarterback Dylan Raiola entering the transfer portal.
That would have been a disaster for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Hummer even suggested there was some “worry” around the Nebraska football program.
In truth, coaches are probably worried about every good player on the roster because tampering is rampant and the NCAA isn’t doing anything to stop it. Essentially, everyone is a free agent, every offseason.
However, Nebraska football fans don’t need to worry. Raiola posted on Instragram shortly after the report came out that he was “All in.” The picture was of him in a Cornhusker uniform, so that settles that.
Vincent Shavers, a former four-star linebacker, who played significant snaps as a freshman, also posted on social media that he will be back and indicated that the other “Miami” recruits — Willis McGahee IV, Jacory Barney, and Amare Sanders would return with him. Sanders announced a return in a separate post.
Nebraska football busy in the transfer portal
The Cornhuskers were expected to be active in the transfer portal and so far, that’s been accurate. Nebraksa football has six visits set up already. Former Kentucky wideout Dane Key will visit along with former Texas receiver Johntay Cook II.
Phoenix Jackson, a linebacker from Fresno State is also visiting the Cornhuskers, along with former Louisville safety Devin Neal, and also former Florida State linebacker Omar Graham.
The Huskers are even hosting an All-American long snapper from New Hampshire. Phil Steele had him, Kevin Gallic, on his All-American team and Gallic posted on X that he would visit Nebraska football. He’s got one season left to play but after the long-snapping issues last season, this would be a home run.
