Former Boise State big man Drew Fielder was on campus for an official visit to the Nebraska basketball program on Friday night. It ended on Saturday, and Fielder left campus without a commitment.

Fielder is 6-foot-10/6-foot-11. He was a stellar low-post scorer for the Broncos last season, but was also deadly from 3-point range, connecting on 40 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc on his way to averaging 14.7 points per game.

The former Georgetown forward played 23.7 minutes per night in 2025-26. He was an efficient scorer for the Broncos last season, connecting on 54.7 percent of his shot attempts overall, to go along with 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.4 steals per game.

Listed as a center by 247 Sports, Fielder is ranked eighth at his position in the transfer portal rankings. He’s also No. 62 overall. Sam Orme, a 6-foot-9 forward who committed to the Huskers from Belmont, is ranked 92nd overall.

On Fielder, he’s expected to visit Washington next. The Huskies have been known for having some strong NIL resources in the past, so this doesn’t feel like a slam dunk.

Fielder is an elite scorer. His defense is a question mark, but Nebraska needs to fortify the frontcourt, and Fielder would do it.

No word on PG pursuits

There was buzz that Nebraska might be pursuing an international point guard, but that didn’t come to fruition. Instead, it feels like Trevan Leonhardt is still the top target. There was talk of a visit this weekend, but it’s not clear if that happened.

The 6-foot-4 guard from Utah Valley has also gotten serious interest from Arizona State. He averaged 11.9 points per game last season, but also averaged six assists (1st in WAC) and 2.1 steals on his way to earning All-WAC defensive-team honors.

As it stands, it’s all quiet for Nebraska basketball. It shouldn’t stay that way for long, though.
