Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

Nebraska football has been hot on the recruiting trail lately. The Huskers have a busy week of official visits coming up, and as we pointed out on Monday, they are trending in the right direction to land four 2027 recruits.

Now, it appears that the Huskers could have a chance to start trending with another in an interesting twist. Three-star EDGE Ma’atoe Moe, who is ranked 1,089 overall, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. He’s 6-foot-4, 217 pounds, and just committed to Minnesota over the weekend.

That being said, according to Greg Smith and Tim Verghese of Rivals, Moe is still expected to take his official visit to Nebraska. The Rivals reporters have also said that Moe has gone “radio silent” with Minnesota. Moe is expected to take a visit to Lincoln this weekend.

Nebraska football has some work to do on the defensive side of the ball. Three of the four players are on the defensive side of the ball, and adding another EDGE would be a solid move, especially if the Huskers can flip someone away from PJ Fleck and the Gophers.

Five-star recruit Albert Simien is visiting this weekend. He would be the cherry on top on a stellar O-line class, but regardless of that, it feels like a slew of commitments are coming soon.

Ty Horn announces possible departure on social media

Nebraska baseball will have at least one arm to replace after Ty Horn announced he won’t be coming back via a post on social media. All he said was “Thank you, Nebraska.”

He could be entering the draft or the transfer portal. Horn started the season as the Friday starter, but was then moved the bullpen before becoming a starter again. He started the second game of the Lincoln Regional, getting a loss to Ole Miss.

Horn was 4-4 with a 4.94 ERA this season. Fans will always remember the gem he pitched against UCLA in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament championship game.
