Nebraska football trending for a major 2027 commitment

One of the top cornerbacks in the 2027 recruiting class could become a Nebraska football commitment, at least by June.

That’s when four-star cornerback Jailen Hill will announce his commitment. The 6-foot-3, 160-pound cornerback from California narrowed his recruitment on Sunday, with Nebraska football chief among those programs.

The Huskers had Hill on campus this spring. He’s also got an official visit scheduled. Washington, Florida State, Tennessee and Ole Miss are the other contenders.

As of right now, Washington and Nebraska are the only teams that have official visits scheduled. Out of St. John Bosco in California, Notre Dame was a strong factor in Hill’s recruitment. He took multiple visits to South Bend, but a Notre Dame reported recently projected Hill to Nebraska.

Nebraska football trending as the favorite

Tim Verghese of Inside Nebraska and Greg Biggins, a national recruiting reporter for Rivals, have also put in predictions with the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine in favor of Nebraska.

That gives the Huskers a better than 80 percent chance of landing his commitment. Hill is ranked No. 273 overall in the 2027 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The decision date for Hill is June 9th. That’s just a few days after his Nebraska visit, which might be another indication of where this is headed.

Addison Williams has been a stellar recruiter for the Huskers, and he looks poised for another major recruiting win this June.
