The latest Ahmad Hudson report is a mixed bag for Nebraska football

It’s been clear that Nebraska football has a chance to flip five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. Husker fans can disagree about how likely or unlikely it is, but this recruitment is far from over.

Tom Loy of 247 Sports offered a reminder of that in his latest report on Hudson, the 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end from Ruston, Louisiana.

The LSU commitment is a tight end who catches the ball like a wide receiver. He is a standout on the basketball court and has been garnering more attention from his ability there, too. Fred Hoiberg has offered him the chance to play basketball for the Huskers, on top of playing football.

If you watch him slam dunk it once, you can see why both Nebraska head coaches are excited. Matt Rhule has done a great job of building a relationship with Hudson. Trae Taylor, too. That’s why the Huskers have a legit shot at flipping him, something that fans can feel better about after Loy reported that Hudson would visit Nebraska football this fall.

Loy said he “fully expects” this to happen. However, the 247 Sports recruiting insider said that some other programs have started angling for a flip, too, such as Ohio State, Florida, Miami, and others.

There has been a ton of positive buzz from insiders about Hudson to Nebraska. The Huskers stil have work to do, and a winning season would certainly help. But getting Hudson on campus for a game would be huge. It would allow Nebraska to make a closer argutment, and maybe build enough momentum to pull off the flip.

We have been saying all along that Nebraska needs to get Hudson on another visit to make this happen, so despite other schools making a push, the Huskers are still in the best position for a flip.
