One bold prediction now that Nebraska football is 100 days away

The Nebraska football season is 100 days away, which feels like the perfect time for one bold prediction regarding the 2024 season.

Nebraska football

In case you missed it, the 2024 Nebraska football season is officially 100 days away. That feels like a long time but it’s coming fast.

Now that spring ball is over, we have moved to the next part of the offseason. Maybe we can call it survival because as fans, we’ll have to try and survive the next two months on nothing but recruiting news and highlights of what Dylan Raiola did in the spring game.

I’m joking, mostly, but the UTEP game is getting closer and closer. Before you know it, Aug. 31 will be here and the Huskers’ quest to get back to a bowl game begins.

At some point, I’ll lay out my bold predictions for this season, as well as my win-loss predictions. However, in honor of the season being 100 days away, it seems like time for at least one prediciton, that doesn’t even feel that bold.

Nebraska football will make a bowl game in 2024

The schedule is pretty favorable, at least during the first part of the season. That’s one reason Nebraska football will make a bowl game. There are plenty of others.

Dylan Raiola is one. The second-year leaps that happen under Matt Rhule are another. Rhule is an elite head coach and he will prove that this season. The Huskers should have made a bowl game last season. But Rhule said he was excited by last season’s results.

It was exciting for him to be that close in year one. Now, that Rhule has revamped the quarterback room and added even more talent — all over the roster — there’s no doubt in my mind that the Huskers will reach that six-win threshold.

I’ll be more surprised to see them win just five, than if Nebraska wins 10. That’s how good this team can be and it’s safe to say 100 days out, I’m drunk on the Rhule aid — for good reason.
