Nebraska football has reportedly found a defensive line coach, according to Sean Callahan of Husker Online, as the Huskers are set to hire Corey Brown from Miami (Ohio).

Brown is a name that comes out of nowhere. It also makes you wonder if the Huskers missed on another target and had to circle back, because it seems strange to wait this long.

There were rumors that it would be Frank Okam of the Texans. However, Brown makes a lot of sense. He’s spent the past three seasons with the Redhawks, and his D-line charges have been highly productive.

Nebraska football has 66 tackles for loss and 22 sacks during the 2025 season. Miami (Ohio) has averaged 75 tackles for loss and 35 sacks over the past three seasons. Brown also does have some Big Ten experience, coaching the defensive line for Rutgers.

What makes sense for Nebraska is that he was the defensive line coach at South Dakota with Rob Aurich, the new defensive coordinator. So Aurich has another assistant, along with Roy Manning (EDGE coach), who will be coaching players up front.

Andy Burburija is a 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive tackle who had 11.5 sacks last season for Iowa Western. He visited Nebraska over the weekend and was committed to Kansas State at one time. Clemson was in the mix, too; however, the Huskers have been projected to land him by Sean Callahan, so it seems like the new D-line coach wil have another new addition to the roster.

Burburija has received a crystal ball for Nebraska, too.
