Nebraska football knocked it out of the park on its first big official visit weekend, and the positive results keep pouring in.
The Huskers haven’t landed a commitment from one of the 2026 recruits who took an official visit this weekend, but it’s only a matter of time.
Nebraska has already been projected to flip Syracuse EDGE commitment Kamron Wilson, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound pass rusher ranked No. 423 overall (3-star via On3).
The Huskers also have been projected to land three-star tight end Luke Sorensen over Penn State, which was the leader previously, as well as three-star offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth.
You can add a fourth recruit now trending to the Big Red as three-star offensive tackle Rex Waterman is now trending with expert projections to be a Nebraska football commitment.
Huskers trending for another 2026 recruit
At 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, Waterman is out of Chandler, Arizona. His recruitment was narrowed to UCLA, Duke, Boise State, and Nebraska. Those are the other programs expected to get official visits, however, it remains to be seen if those trips will be taken, at least to Duke and UCLA.
Waterman visited Boise State the weekend before Nebraska. Yet, with four expert predictions, including those from Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons of On3.com, it feels like a done deal.
Waterman is ranked No. 1,334 in the 2026 class. Ainsworth, Sorensen, and Wilson are each three-star prospects as well. Yet, these were competitive recruitments. Nebraska has been battling Penn State and Ole Miss for Sorensen.
Florida State and other ACC programs have been trying to flip Wilson, and Ainsworth is from the heart of SEC country. Nebraska also did a solid job to try and reaffirm the commitment of CJ Bronaugh, who said he was “firmly committed” after this trip.
Nebraska also impressed four-star running back Brian Bonner. There hasn’t been much said about Kelvin Obot, the top-100 offensive tackle from Idaho, but regardless, this past weekend was a huge success.
