Nebraska football hit the practice field for the first time this spring on Monday, and fans were treated to some photos and a highlight video released by the Huskers.

It’s less than 30 seconds, but when you are starved for football, you’ll take anything to feed the addiction. There was a photo of Dasan McCullough looking like an absolute beast.

Sean Callahan of Husker Online also reported on Monday that some NFL scouts told him that McCullough was a “true unicorn.” That’s an exciting prospect for Nebraska football this season. McCullough feels like he will be a featured pass rusher this season, and I can’t wait to see what kind of impact he will make.

Don’t be surprised if McCullough is Nebraska’s most impactful transfer. As Matt Rhule said, Dylan Raiola has been working on slimming down and looks great. He also threw a dart to Jacory Barney for a touchdown. You can’t see specifically that it’s Raiola throwing the ball, but we’re just going to assume it was Raiola. Either way, it was a remarkable throw and catch.

Matt Rhule is expected to meet with the media on Tuesday.

In-state transfer target back in the portal

William Kyle II was a transfer portal target of Nebraska basketball last season, and the Bellevue, Nebraska, product is back in the portal after one season at UCLA.

Kyle only played 9.8 minutes per game last season and scored 2.9 points per game. He also averaged 0.6 blocks, which equates to 2.6 per 40 minutes. He also shot 70 percent from the field.

Kyle just never found a role with the Bruins, but as a four with a defensive prowess, he would be perfect for the Huskers and wouldn’t break the bank. It’s still going to take a bag to get basically anyone out of the portal, as the going rate for starters is now about 500K.

The former in-state prospect chose the Bruins over the Huskers and others last year. But, he feels like a nice complement to Rienk Mast and could be a good value pickup for Nebraska basketball.

Jordy Bahl is the Big Ten pitcher of the week

The Huskers rolled on the softball diamond over the weekend, sweeping Minnesota in the first home series of the Big Ten schedule as Nebraska improved to 4-1 in league play (half game out of first).

Jordy Bahl was a key part of that. She pitched a complete-game victory and also came on in relief in another game. In all, she pitched eight scoreless innings, which was good enough to get her the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week Award.
