Nebraska football fans have been holding out hope for another offensive line transfer but it’s starting to look like that won’t happen, at least until the spring.

It was previously reported that Nebraska football was up against the spring scholarship deadline. Sean Callahan of Husker Online reiterated that on Friday and said it would take a “special player” for the Huskers to make another addition in this transfer portal window.

At this point, it seems unlikely. Still, Nebraska football did a stellar job of satisfying some key needs, which included adding offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett, a starter last season for Alabama.

The Huskers have two tackles who started double-digit games last season on the roster. So, the offensive line is in better shape than some fans are making it out to be.

Nebraska football position changes

There are two position changes of note, as reported by Callahan. Jaidyn Doss, the former three-star wide receiver, moved to defensive back last season. He didn’t make an impact there and with some of the recent transfers, Doss has moved back to wide receiver.

Doss caught two passes for 20 yards in four games as a freshman but he played in just one game last season. After the Huskers lost four wideouts from the 2023 and 2024 classes to the transfer portal, adding another player back to the room with multiple years of eligibility isn’t a bad thing, especially since DB didn’t work out.

Roger Gradney, a four-star signee at defensive back in the 2024 class, is slated to move to linebacker, according to Callahan, which is an interesting move. He’s listed on the roster at 6-foot, 205 pounds. He was a kick returner and wide receiver, as well as defensive back in high school, so he’d be a super-athletic linebacker.

You need linebackers who can run, cover, and tackle. Gradney will need to put on some weight. He also didn’t play any games in 2024, so I wouldn’t expect a huge jump in 2025.

But, he could be a factor on special teams, and have a chance to get on the field during the 2026 season if he takes to the position. After Dasan McCullough and Javin Wright, a former nickel, move on, there will be plenty of snaps to be had and Gradney could be a factor there down the road.

In other roster moves of note, Alex Bullock and fullback Barret Liebentritt are among a few players no longer listed on the Nebraska football roster.
