Nebraska football received another Crystal Ball prediction for a talked about target. 2024 three-star edge defender Jayshawn Ross received a prediction from On3’s Bryan Munson on Monday afternoon.
Ross’s recruitment has been interesting as of late. He posted that he was reopening his recruitment on August 20. Perhaps, that was to see what other schools were out there, or if other schools were interested. Nevertheless, Nebraska for the apparently is in the thick of things in regards to this recruitment.
This is good news, as it means Nebraska is still very much in his plans. He did release a top five in June. However, the list itself is interesting. He put Michigan on his list. However, Michigan was not even recruiting him.
The Huskers have been interested in Ross since June. The Huskers could certainly use another edge defender, as depth at the position is extremely important. They have a bona fide stud at the position right now in Cameron Lenhardt. However, getting more edge rushers in the fold, and being able to subsequently develop them, will be important for the future.
Ross brings a strong skill set to the table. He is quick, and has good instincts. As is the case with several Nebraska football commitments, he is athletic. This is important in Tony White’s edition of the defense.
A loaded 2024 Nebraska football recruiting class
Currently, Nebraska for all has 24 commitments in the 2024 class. There is not a ton of room left just in terms of the class itself. Nevertheless, Nebraska could add a guy like Ross. He may be one of the final additions of the class, and would fill a position of need.
We have already seen the program begin to focus on the 2025 recruiting class, and they are doing so at a high level. Connor Booth was the most recent addition to the class. The focus recruiting -wise is beginning to shift.
It will be interesting to see what happens on the Ross front, but it seems like Nebraska is very much in the mix. This Crystal Ball is certainly of note, and Munson is one of the more trusted experts in recruiting. I wouldn’t be surprised to see good news about Ross very soon. This would certainly be another good get for the Nebraska football coaching staff.
