Nebraska football made the top six for a lineman target on Tuesday. 2025 four-star interior offensive lineman Marcus Garcia put Nebraska football in his top six.
Garcia also would Texas A&M, Michigan, Penn State, Arkansas, and Florida in his list as well. He most recently visited Texas A&M last weekend. He wants to make a decision in early May, per a report from On3’s Chad Simmons.
Garcia is the 29thoverall offensive tackle in the 2025 class, and the 54th overall player in his class from the state of Texas per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Garcia has 29 offers in total, and has several visits coming up. He is set to visit the Huskers on April 26, and then will take a trip to Arkansas on May 31. He will then stop at Texas A&M on June 6, before swinging down to Texas Tech on June 14. Penn State will be next on his list and he will be stopping in Happy Valley on June 21.
What can he bring to Nebraska football?
Garcia is a coveted player, and for good reason. He is extremely strong when it comes to run blocking, and is able to get leverage on his man almost immediately. This allows for clear running lanes for the backs. Garcia’s pass protection is also very solid. He does not move his feet a ton, and is able to stay with his man easily, creating a clean pocket for the quarterbacks.
Nebraska football definitely has their work cut out for them in this recruitment. When you look at the schools they are going up against, it’s no small feat. Michigan in particular is a school that is of note due to their ability to develop the offensive line position.
However, this coaching staff has shown that they can recruit well in the state of Texas. Not only that, they are beginning to build a strong offensive line both in terms of who is on the roster right now and freshman coming in. This staff has shown that they are able to recruit the offensive line position, and it will be interesting to see how hard they push for Garcia.
