Nebraska football commit Daniel Kaelin had a successful weekend at the Elite 11. He made several precision passes, and certainly held his own against some of the best 2024 quarterbacks in the country. The Elite 11 finalist list came out on Sunday, and Kaelin was on it.
This is certainly a big honor for Kaelin, as he looks to finish up his high school career. The proof is in the pudding for the quarterback, as he is coming off a season that saw him record 3,938 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. He committed to Nebraska on May 20, as he looks to lead the program into the future.
Kaelin is a three-star quarterback, although that should change within the coming weeks, especially with this result. It’s very clear that he was able to make an impact against some of the top quarterbacks in the country, and this should help Nebraska moving forward. He still has another year to develop.
It’s also very clear that Nebraska football got a solid quarterback and Kaelin. Many people were a little bit unsure about what the program was going to get with some even citing his three-star ranking as a negative. However, it looks as though Nebraska football is going to get an accurate passer that can move the ball down the field.
It’s also clear that the Elite 11 helped boost his stock over the last couple of days. This is certainly a positive thing as it relates to Nebraska. They have not exactly been known as a premier quarterback development school. Kaelin could help change the tide in that regard. This is certainly a good first step in that direction.
It remains to be seen how Kaelin will do in his senior season. It’s very evident that he has talent to be successful at the next level, and now it’s just about putting the cherry on top at the high school level.
Elite 11 camps aren’t necessarily the best evaluation tool for quarterbacks. However, it can give fans an idea of what the quarterbacks have to offer. Kaelin certainly showed what he could bring to the table throughout the weekend.
