June is a key month on the college football recruiting calendar. That’s when things start to become clearer with top targets and you can see that start happening for Nebraska football.

A four-star wide receiver target canceled a visit to another school on Monday, which puts the Huskers in a strong position and the same thing has happened with 2025 defensive back Antonio Branch Jr., who visited Nebraska football during the spring game.

Branch was expected to take an official visit to Florida this weekend but has canceled that according to a post on X that also says he is now down to three teams: Penn State, Nebraska, and Louisville. Those are the schools that have hosted him for an official visit or will.

Penn State hosted Branch for an official visit last weekend. Up next is Louisville, who will have the 6-foot-2, 172-pound safety on campus the weekend of June 21st.

Where does Nebraska football stand with Antonio Branch Jr.?

This is a tough recruitment to read. Branch is out of Miami, Florida, and is ranked 437th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The Florida prospect is ranked as a four-star recruit according to the On3 Industry rankings. On3 also has him listed as a cornerback and we know how someone who can play both spots is perfect for Nebraska football.

The Huskers have only had Branch on campus once though. The same goes for Penn State and Louisville, which will have him on campus later this month.

Louisville is the slight leader according to the On3 prediction machine. The Cardinals have a 29-percent chance to win his commitment, while Penn State is at 25 and Nebraska is at 22.
