It was  a relatively quiet weekend for Nebraska Athletics, with the exception of recruiting news and baseball. The football program continues to schedule visits with top recruits. The baseball program is set to play in the Big Ten tournament on Tuesday, in what has been a wild year overall.

On top of this, Nebraska football alums are playing at a high level on the gridiron. We take a look at all of this and more in our daily Huskers news roundup.

Nebraska to host four-star linebacker on visit

Nebraska football has an important official visitor next month in 2025 four-star linebacker Emmanuel Karmo. He will be in Lincoln on June 21, the final visit in a slate of visits that includes the likes of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio State.

Karmo initially committed to the Gophers on April 12.

Nebraska football has a strong base of defensive prospects in the 2025 class. Karmo would certainly add to it, and give Nebraska football another athletic linebacker in their defense. This is definitely a recruitment worth watching in what is going to be a busy month of visits. His athleticism and his ability to play off the edge are two things that would make him a valuable piece in this defense.

This recruitment is definitely one to watch, and it will be exciting to see where he lands. Hopefully, we’ll see him in Lincoln on Saturdays.

Baseball drops series finale with Ohio State up next

Nebraska baseball dropped the series finale against Michigan State on Saturday, by an 11-6 margin. Dylan Carey drove in two runs, while Case Sanderson, Gabe Swanson, and Tyler Stone drove in the others.

It was a rough day on the mound for Jackson Brockett, as he only lasted two innings. He gave up five hits, three earned runs, and faced 12 batters. He threw 43 pitches over the course of two innings, and the bullpen had to salvage the rest of the game. Seven pitchers came in after Brockett, and were able to help Nebraska at least finish the game.

Now, the Big Ten Tournament is in focus. The Huskers will face Ohio State in Omaha on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 2: 10 PM CDT.

Martinez continues to shine in USFL

Former Nebraska football quarterback Adrian Martinez had a strong day on the gridiron for the Birmingham Stallions on Saturday.  He accumulated five total touchdowns as the Stallions won by a 35-28 score

Martinez went 19-of-31 for 173 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also proved his effectiveness on the ground, tallying 44 yards and two touchdowns. With the win, Birmingham remains undefeated with a perfect 8-0 record.

Martinez continues to have a dominant season, as he has thrown for 1,375 yards, 13 touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also has 44 rushing attempts for 431 yards and three touchdowns. He is putting together a dominant season, as he looks to get his pro career back on track.
