The Nebraska football program is expected to sign nine recruits on Wednesday as part of the 2026 recruiting class.
Until recently, one of those was going to be Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Dylan Raiola. Dayton isn’t expected to sign with anyone on Wednesday, which adds some intrigue to the Nebraska quarterback situation.
As far as the recruiting trail, the Huskers are currently ranked 109th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports team rankings. Only Penn State, which still doesn’t have a head coach after the poor decision to fire James Franklin, is ranked below Nebraska football in the Big Ten recruiting rankings for this class.
Quantity is one thing. The quality is another issue. Just two of the nine players signing are ranked as four-star prospects. Danny Odem is a four-star according to the composite rankings, but 247 does recognize him in their rankings as a five-star prospect (No. 31 overall). Three of Nebraska’s nine recruits are ranked outside the top 1,000.
Nothing major is expected for Early National Signing Day. The Huskers have already signed five of their 10 prospects. The other signings should come in hot and heavy for Nebraska football.
We’ll have updates every time that Nebraska announces a signing. Matt Rhule is also expected to address the class later on Wednesday.

Nebraska football signing Day analysis
The good news is that there was no drama on Early Signing Day for Nebraska football. It’s always good to see the top-ranked players come in early, which is what happened. Danny Odem and Claude Mpouma each came right away.
The class as a whole was light, but if the Huskers can develop some of these three-star offensive linemen into players, this class will feel much different. The wide receivers and running back Jamal Rule, especially Rule, who said he feels like he’s a “5-star,” could out-play their ranking.
Emmett Johnson, a former three-star ranked in the 800s, just led the Big Ten in rushing after all, so maybe Rule will be right. However, if Odem lives up to the five-star rating given to him by 247 Sports, and Mpouma is the starting left tackle in a season or two, this class will have paid off.
