Nebraska football has been in the mix for five-star offensive lineman David Sanders throughout the recruiting process. Now, the program is going all-out when Sanders makes a return to Nebraska on Friday. Quarterback Dylan Raiola posted a tweet on X Thursday afternoon. The quarterback encouraged Nebraska fans to meet outside the athletic complex, to greet Sanders on his visit.

Sanders would be a massive get for the program. He is the top offensive tackle in the 2025 class. He is scheduled to make a decision on August 17, and Nebraska football is very much in the mix for him. Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia are also vying for Sanders as well.

Sanders is just one of the many big-time recruits scheduled to visit Lincoln over this next week. Michael Terry III and Isaiah Mozee are also scheduled to come to town. This is part of the big final push, as Nebraska aims to get the last visit for many of these top prospects.

Sanders would be a game-changer in more ways than one for the program. He would give them a cornerstone player for the 2025 class, a class that already has quite a bit of talent. Secondly, he would give them a formidable piece on the offensive line. He would be the second-highest-rated commitment for the program in the 247Sports era. That certainly is no small feat.

A big development for Nebraska football

Getting Sanders back on campus is huge, and I personally wondered if it would happen. Nevertheless, this coaching staff never stops recruiting and never stops trying to land big-time players. Sanders definitely falls into that category. His aggressiveness when blocking, and his ability to create running lanes with ease are just a couple of things he brings to the table. Sanders has superb strength, and is a human bulldozer for defensive lineman.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this visit, and how much it will sway him to come to Lincoln. At the very least, it’s clear that Nebraska is in good shape and is very much in the mix for his recruitment.
