Nebraska Football: Another 4-star visitor, latest on elite target Gatlin Bair

Nebraska football has another four-star offensive lineman coming for a visit in June, plus the latest on Gatlin Bair.

Now that Nebraska football has landed its quarterback in the 2024 class, the Huskers are focused on surrounding him with talent and one of the top targets in that regard is wide receiver Gatlin Bair.

Bair is one of the top targets on the board for Nebraska football, along with Carter Nelson, and the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is a freak. He’s run the 100-meter dash in 10.15 this spring and is incredibly dynamic.

The Huskers cracked his top five and Bair took an unofficial visit this spring. Michigan, Oregon, Boise State, and TCU are also in the mix. Nebraska football is actually the leader according to the On3 prediction machine, based in large part on the projection of Sean Callahan of Husker Online.

However, it doesn’t sound like Bair will be taking a trip to Nebraska in June. He told Husker Online he plans to visit TCU on June 10th, Oregon on the 16th, and Michigan on June 23rd according to Bryan Munson. It sounds like Nebraska will get its visit in the fall, during a gameday.

There could be a lot of positives in that. Nebraska is going to have to show progress on the field this fall to win over some recruits and Bair is one of them. Plus, there’s nothing like a game inside Lincoln Memorial Stadium and the Huskers could really wow him.

Yet, I do worry about not visiting from March until September or October. That’s a long time and I’ve always felt that Michigan was the biggest threat so that June 23rd visit has me worried. Plus, you can never count out Oregon with its incredible facilities and Nike money to throw around.

4-star tackle to visit Nebraska

Marques Easley is a 2024 offensive tackle recruit that should be on the radar of Nebraska football fans as he will take an unofficial visit in early June according to Husker Online. Easley is 6-foot-7, 300 pounds out of Illinois, and is ranked 240th overall according to the On3 Industry rankings.

There is some stiff competition already in the mix with Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Oklahoma all scheduled to get official visits. The Huskers will also get a stop in June and the objective should be to get Easley back for a game this fall.

Recruits like him and Bair will be tough to get without seeing the product on the field first. The key will be getting these recruits to delay their decisions until the fall.

That can be a tall order but the Huskers have made up ground with Easley and it’s always good to see a blue-chip prospect come in for a visit.
