More Nebraska football game times have been announced as we inch closer to the season. It was announced early on Thursday that the Iowa game would be at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. The Colorado and Illinois game times have been announced as well.

Shortly after that schedule leak, Nebraska football officially announced times for three other games.

The opening game against UTEP will be at 2:30 PM central time on Fox. The Northern Iowa contest will take place at 6:30 PM central time. This game can be watched on Big Ten Network. Lastly, the Rutgers game on October 5 will take place at either 11 AM, 2:30 PM or 3 PM central time.

This is certainly an interesting development in terms of scheduling. Nebraska will have three straight night games in the month of September alone. This should make for a great atmosphere at Memorial Stadium, and the fans will undoubtedly be excited and rowdy for each of them.

Nebraska football has history of opening up on Saturdays

Nebraska is no stranger to opening up on Saturday afternoons in August. They did that in 2019, 2021, and 2022. Here’s to hoping they actually get a win this time around in the opener. Nebraska is searching for a season-opening win for the first time since the 2019 season, when they defeated South Alabama.

This announcement means that football season is getting closer. It’s certainly exciting to think about, as the anticipation for this season continues to build. It seems just like yesterday that Nebraska lost to Iowa in the season finale. Now, optimism and excitement abounds again.
