Nebraska football will face Colorado this week and the Cornhuskers will be an underdog when they head to Boulder.
Leading up to the 2023 season, most Nebraska football fans were more worried about Minnesota than they were about Colorado.
But after watching the Buffaloes upset 17th-ranked TCU as a 21-point underdog, something no college football head coach has done in a debut since 1978, it might be time to worry about Colorado.
Shedeur Sanders was incredible and set a Colorado record for passing yards. Freshman running back Dylan Edwards scored four total touchdowns and Travis Hunter announced his presence in the Heisman Trophy race.
The Colorado defense still gave up 42 points. I’m also not that convinced that TCU deserved to be a top-25 team, but the win was impressive nonetheless.
Nebraska football will have to play better than last week to beat the Buffaloes on Saturday and the atmosphere is going to be electric. Right now, the Huskers have opened as a 2.5-point underdog according to Draftkings. Although, some have Nebraska football as a slight favorite.
We’ll see how the line moves this week, but this is a must-win game for Nebraska football, especially after the way the Huskers squandered an opportunity against Minnesota.
Nebraska football commitment goes for over 300 yards
If you need a pick-me-up after that brutal loss on Thursday, one thing that enhanced my mood this weekend was the fact that Nebraska football commitment, Conor Booth, put together a monster game on Friday, rushing for over 200 yards in the first quarter.
Booth was just shy of 1,000 yards rushing as a sophomore and the Huskers took his verbal commitment recently as part of the 2025 class. He’s an impressive athlete and he ran the ball 14 times for 313 yards on Friday. He also scored five touchdowns.
I get that Booth isn’t ranked but who cares? In two games he’s got 26 carries for 443 yards and nine touchdowns. The competition isn’t elite but the kid can clearly play and I’m glad he’s a Nebraska Cornhuskers commitment.
