Nebraska basketball recruiting target Frankie Fidler was in Lincoln on Thursday, and we got a chance to see what he would look like in a Nebraska basketball uniform.

The photo was posted by Sam Hoiberg as the program tries to restock their roster. There are currently four open spots on the team, with the most recent departure being C. J. Wilcher.

Ordinarily, these departures would be viewed as a bad thing, and would seem like a lot of work to restock the roster. However, Nebraska basketball coach Fred Hoiberg has shown he can build a program through the transfer portal at a high level.

Hoiberg posted a photo on his Instagram story earlier in the day, as Fidler got to tour the Nebraska basketball locker room.

Fidler would bring a spark to Nebraska basketball

Fidler appeared in every game for the Omaha Mavericks last season, and scored 14.7 points per game, to go along with 5.8 rebounds per contest. He had a 27-point game against Denver in the Summit League championship semifinal as the Mavericks lost a close game by a 66-63 score. He dazzled in the Summit League quarterfinal against the University of North Dakota, scoring 34 points in 40 minutes of play.

Fidler would bring another scoring threat and size at the forward position. The Bellevue, Neb. native measures in at six-foot-seven, 205 pounds.

Nebraska basketball needs another forward, especially with the departure of Josiah Alllick. Fidler would be a solid choice to slide into that role.

Nebraska basketball has done extremely well in the transfer portal over the past couple of seasons. Hoiberg and Co. will have to work their magic again, and Fidler would fit nicely into both the scheme, and what this program is trying to build off of.
