The Nebraska football team wrapped up its spring work last weekend, however, the Huskers still had some work to do on the volleyball court, as Nebraska played another spring match against South Dakota State in Ord, Nebraska.

It was a special experience all around. The crowds were insane as Husker fans poured in to see the Huskers notch a 4-0 sweep of SDSU — the same score of the win over Kansas last Saturday.

1,750 fans cheered on Nebraska volleyball in the old-school gymnasium. The town of Ord has a population of 2,080. Harper Murray, who gave away free tickets to fans earlier this week, was stellar with 12 kills. Andi Jackson notched a double-double with 11 kills and 10 blocks, while Rebekha Allick managed eight kills and nine blocks.

The Huskers hit .315 in the win. North Dakota State was limited to just .015.

Nebraska football is a finalist for the 2026 offensive tackle

On Thursday, Nebraska football landed a massive commitment from 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor. However, the Huskers are still focused on the 2026 class, too.

There was some good news on that front as Rex Waterman, a three-star offensive tackle in the 2026 class, included Nebraska football among his final four teams, which also features Boise State, UCLA, and Duke.

Waterman has visited Nebraska football a couple of times in the past few months. He’s scheduled for an official visit on June 6th. He will also visit UCLA, Duke, and Boise State, but the Huskers feel like the favorite here.

He’s currently ranked as a three-star by 247 Sports and told On3 he is planning to commit by the end of June.

Nebraska Cornhuskers diamond roundup

After Jordy Bahl tossed a one-hit shutout on Friday in the Huskers’ 6-0 win over Maryland, which also included a home run from Bahl, Nebraska softball followed it up with a 9-2 win over the Terps on Saturday.

Bahl set a new school record with her 36th extra-base hit, which came on a double. Ava Kuszak added two RBI in the win, plus a triple. Abbie Squier also had two hits — a double and a triple in the win.

Kylee Magee got the win in the circle (7-4) after four scoreless innings and just two hits allowed. Nebraska (37-12, 16-5) will wrap up the regular season Sunday. The Big Ten tournament starts on May 7th.

The Nebraska baseball team evened its series with Minnesota on Saturday thanks to a 5-4 win on a walk-off single from Bobby Bolin in the bottom of the ninth.

Nebraska lost 6-4 on Friday to the Golden Gophers. Bolin was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in the win Saturday. The Huskers desperately need a series win and honestly need to get on a winning streak if they are going to have any chance of making the NCAA tournament.

The first pitch for softball will go out at 11 a.m. Nebraska baseball will play at 1 p.m. Nebraska softball will be on the Big Ten Network.
