Official visit season is heating up for Nebraska football in more ways than one.

The Huskers will host some key targets on campus for official visits this weekend. There are some commitment candidates that will be in Lincoln, but the bigger story might be that four-star safety commitment, Tory Pittman, is taking an official visit to LSU this weekend.

This is according to Tim Verghese of Inside Nebraska. He reported the official visit on Thursday. It remains to be seen how serious a threat LSU is to flip Pittman. Miami isn’t in the mix anymore. It feels like the Tigers have a long way to go in this recruitment, but this official visit may give Pittman something to think about.

Lane Kiffin is the head coach now. It could make a difference. Interestingly, Nebraska football hosted five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson last week and is actively trying to flip him. Kiffin is now trying to return the favor. LSU doesn’t have any safety commitments, either.

Official visits could lead to commitments for Nebraska football

According to Rivals, there are seven recruits headed to Nebraska football this weekend. Four-star offensive lineman Kyler Kuhn is the highest-ranked at No. 203 overall. The interior O-line target from Kansas City could be the fifth commitment for Geep Wade.

Greg Smith of Rivals, a former Nebraska recruiting reporter, called his shot on a few recruits this week. Kuhn was among them, and Smith predicted he would end up a Cornhusker. That would be another great get. In-state OL Barrett Kitrell is also going to visit and Bryan Munson of Husker Online reports he is take, too.

Could the Huskers sign six offensive lineman? It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, knowing the state of the room after Donovan Raiola left.

Four-star cornerback Jailen Hill has been trending to Nebraska. This weekend’s visit should be formality, and a commitment is expected next week (June 16th). Three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, three-star LB Caleb Green (Missouri commit), three-star safety Brennan Drummond, and wide receiver Justyn Lindsay.

The Rivals Recruiting Prediction machine pegs Nebraska as the favorite to land Hill, Kuhn, and Kitrell. The Huskers are the favorite to land Lindsay, too, but it’s not clear if he’s a take.
