Nebraska football held another practice open to the media on Friday morning, at least a portion of it was open to the media.

While it’s fun watching Dylan Raiola throw passes against the air, it doesn’t provide much information about the team. Most open practices don’t.

However, you can pick up a few things here and there. On Friday, the injury status of some key Nebraska football players stood out to me.

Injury updates from Nebraska football fall camp

For starters, it was good to see that both Tristan Alvano and Blye Hill were 100 percent. They weren’t wearing the yellow jersey and after the injury in the spring to Hill, that’s a really good sign.

Alvano has been working through an injury in camp and it’s good to see him back. You at least want him at 100 percent to give you an idea of where he stands in the kicking competition. The 2023 signee is the favorite after winning the job last season and the Huskers just need some consistency.

However, not all the injury news was positive. Wide receiver Malachi Coleman was wearing a yellow jersey and was among five wearing the yellow jersey who was out or limited. The others were Grant Brix, Jeremiah Charles, Leslie Black, and Larry Tarver.

Henry Lutovsky was out. Robin Washut of Husker Online reported that he hasn’t had surgery yet and that the Nebraska football medical staff is waiting for the swelling to go down. Turner Corcoran did take all the reps with the No. 1 offensive line at left tackle, which is a positive sign.

Corcoran has been working his way back from injury too and has been on a “pitch count.”
