Nebraska football landed its 12th commitment from the transfer portal on New Year’s Day as the Huskers landed another Kentucky wide receiver, Hardley Gilmore.
The 6-foot-1, 178-pound freshman recently entered the transfer portal. Nebraska football hired Daikiel Shorts, the wide receivers coach away from Kentucky and now another one of his pupils has followed him to Lincoln.
Dane Key was the other. Key is a veteran with one year left. Gilmore was a four-star recruit in the 2024 class out of Florida according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. That was also after he re-classified from the 2025 class.
As a freshman, Gilmore played in seven games. He also caught six passes for 153 yards and one touchdown. With the departures of Jaylen Lloyd and Malachi Coleman, Gilmore is a great pickup. He gives Nebraska football another receiver who can make an immediate impact but also gives the Huskers another great option for the future.
Between the 2024 and 2025 classes, Nebraska football has Jacory Barney, Carter Nelson, Gilmore, Quinn Clark, Cortez Mills, and Isaiah Mozee. The Huskers also have three more seasons of Nyziah Hunter so the wide receiver room is deep, talented, and young.
