Will Nebraska football’s final official visit weekend yield any commitments?

Nebraska football has put together a strong class of 2027 recruits with 19 commitments, following the pledge of four-star cornerback Jailen Hill earlier this week.

The Huskers are on track to sign at least nine blue-chip recruits. There could be more, and Trae Taylor could end up being ranked as a five-star recruit by the 247 Sports composite rankings and the Rivals Industry rankings. It’s clear he’s the best quarterback in the class.

Taylor will be in Lincoln for his official visit this weekend, along with top-100 commitment Tory Pittman, who visited LSU recently. Nebraska appears to have held off any threat of a flip from LSU.

There are only two uncommitted recruits expected in Lincoln for official visits. That’s three-star tight end Seager Milholen. He’s 6-foot-6, 250 pounds, and ranked No. 883 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s similar to Joey Hunter and would add another solid player to the tight end room, especially one who can do some blocking.

Can Nebraska beat out Penn State for Khalil Taylor?

Khalil Taylor is the big name to know. The top-100 wideout, (No. 82 according the 247 Sports composite rankings) is a dynamic player. He ran an 11.05 in the 100-meter dash as a freshman. In the last two seasons, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound wideout has 84 receptions. 38 of them have gone for touchdowns. That means 45 percent of his receptions have resulted in touchdowns.

Greg Smith of Rivals reported that Nebraska football is “surging.” The Huskers appear to have some momentum. Will that lead to a commitment? We shall see. All of the crystal balls and expert projections currently favor the Nittany Lions.

Kyler Kuhn and Barrett Kitrell are still out there, too. Nebraska wants both. A six-man offensive line class is big, but after the disaster in that room the last decade, it makes perfect sense. Let Geep Wade cook.
