Nebraska football landed a  commitment from former Florida and Baylor offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua. He made the announcement via X.

This is an interesting commitment, as Mazzccua had Nebraska football in his final group last year, before ultimately deciding to go to Florida. He started in 11-of-12 games, playing 743 snaps last season with the Gators. This included the opener against Utah, and against 11th -ranked Tennessee.

Mazzccua was a three-star prospect for the class of 2020 and played on the left side of the line for Baylor. He played in 11 games with 10 starts as a redshirt sophomore for Baylor and was the second-best guard in the Big 12 according to Pro Football Focus.

Mazzccua’s brother is also currently on the Nebraska football. Maurice played as a junior running back this past season.

This will be a nice boost at the guard position for Nebraska football. Mazzccua has size at 6-foot-5, 335 pounds. He is extremely physical at the position, and he gets on his man as soon as the ball is snapped. The leverage he is able to get allows him to win his matchups easily. This was something he was able to really show at Baylor in particular. In addition, he is extremely physical, and blocks immediately at the point of attack.

Run-blocking is his specialty, and he fits well in the program in that regard. Nebraska football probably won’t run the ball as much as they did last year, but they will still make it an important part of their offense.

This marks the fourth transfer commitment in the 2024 class. This is also the third transfer commitment and the last week. Nebraska football landed one on Friday and wide receiver Isaiah Neyor , and they also landed one on Saturday in running back Dante Dowdell.

This is undoubtedly good news for the program and as Nebraska continues to fill holes on the roster. It will be interesting to see if Nebraska has anymore moves up their sleeves.
