Could another wide receiver be on the way for Nebraska football? On3’s Sean Callahan put in a prediction for the former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Neyor to come to Nebraska. He put in a prediction on Friday afternoon with a confidence score of 60. Neyor is set to visit the program this weekend, as the Huskers look to add a veteran wide receiver to the room.

He was a three-star recruit and committed to Texas in January 2022.

Neyor was hurt for most of the 2023 season, catching a pass for 14 yards against Rice in September.  He came to Texas after transferring from Wyoming in 2021. He had an explosive 2021 season that saw him catch 44 passes for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns. The receiver averaged 20 yards per reception in the process, establishing himself as a big-play threat.

What could he bring to Nebraska football?

This would be a big get for Nebraska, as it would give them a veteran in the wide receiver room. There is little doubt that Nebraska has young talented wideouts. However, the program can undoubtedly use another veteran at the wide receiver position.

When you look at Neyor’s skill set, he could fit this offense very well.  Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield wants to run a wide-open offense. Nebraska football has really focused on getting personnel to run the offense. Neyor would be a big get in that regard. He would be a good fit for what this offense wants to do, which is to pass the football down the field, and connect on big plays in the process. We are beginning to see what the program wants the identity of this offense to be.

The wide receiver can make all sorts of catches, and specializes with the deep ball. He is not limited to being a big-play threat however. He can also make things happen after the catch, and does extremely well with turning intermediate routes into big plays. The wideout has a bunch of tricks up his sleeve and a bunch of different ways he can beat defenses. His versatility is certainly welcome.

It will be intriguing to see if Nebraska football will be able to land him this weekend. He would be a huge boost to a wide receiver room that already has a ton of talent. He would give both Satterfield and quarterback Dylan Raiola another weapon to work with. This skill set would allow him to make any immediate impact in the Huskers wide receiver room. Here’s to hoping he ends up as a Husker.
