Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

Nebraska football released its injury report for the Maryland game, at least the initial one. There was a mix of good news and bad news.

Starting with the bad news: Jamal Rule, the Nebraka football starting running back, might be out for Saturday’s game. He was listed as doubtful on the first injury report.

Jacory Barney was knocked out of the Michigan State game, too. He is listed as questionable. Offensive lineman Brendan Black is listed as probable, meaning there is a good chance that he will play. Gibson Pyle stepped in for him last week. Gunnar Gottula could also bump inside, with Tree Babalade taking over at right tackle.

Going without Rule would be a bummer, but with Mekhi Nelson and Isaiah Mozee to carry the rock, the Huskers should be just fine, especially against a Maryland team that has struggled to stop the run.

5-star Ahmad Hudson projected to stick with LSU

Sam Spiegelman of Rivals made a series of predictions about 2027 recruits who have been the target of a flip. Nebraska football target Ahmad Hudson was one of them.

Hudson was expected to visit the Huskers this fall. Now, that might not happen. LSU has hosted him twice for visits this fall, so it feels like they have done enough to secure his commitment.

However, if Matt Rhule can get him back to Lincoln for a game, then you never know.

Nebraska volleyball ready for ranked matchup

In what will be one of the sternest tests of the season, the Nebraska volleyball team will pay a visit to 16th-ranked Penn State on Thursday night. The match starts at 6 p.m. central on the Big Ten Network. Andi Jackson just won the Big Ten and National Player of the Week awards.

Nebraska (13-0, 2-0) will put its unbeaten record on the line against one of its top rivals in Big Ten volleyball.
