Nebraska trending for another 2027 recruit after recent commitment

Husker fans have been focused on the basketball team, for good reason, but the Nebraska football program also had a really solid weekend on the recruiting trail.

On Friday, one day after the Huskers knocked off Troy to win their first NCAA Tournament game, Nebraska landed the commitment of 2027 three-star wideout Kaden Howard.

Howard is listed at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. He’s also ranked No. 945 overall in the 2027 class, via the 247 Sports composite rankings. The Miami Palmetto prospect is ranked outside the top 100 wide receivers in the 2027 class, which seems crazy.

Howard recently ran the 100-meter dash in 10.6 seconds. He finished his junior season with 25 catches for 510 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s over 20 yards per reception. He can play in the slot, could help in the return game, and can also stretch the field.

It’s hard to predict who the next commitment could be. Howard was the seventh. One candidate is four-star offensive tackle Timi Aliu. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive tackle is ranked No. 220 overall, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

Aliu is out of Locust Grove, Georgia. He’s visited Nebraska four times and has an official visit scheduled for June. He wants to commit July 3rd, but he’s started trending with expert projections to land with Nebraska via the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.

There is still time to change that, but for now at least, the Huskers are the heavy favorite.
